She writes an illustrates picture books and short stories.
Her latest picture book, Little Bilby’s Aussie Easter Egg Hunt, published with Hachette Australia was released in May 2020. Other picture books include Meet Sidney Nolan(Penguin Random House) and Oliver’s Grumbles (Yellow Brick Books.) Her stories are published in The School Magazine, as part of anthologies and she had her story ‘A Starry Christmas’ animated on Brisbane City Hall for two weeks.
Yvonne is represented by Justine Barker at Mayfair Literary Agency.
As the coordinator of Write Links, Yvonne supports published and emerging children’s authors and illustrators through facilitating networking opportunities, professional development and face to face critique group.
Yvonne reviews children’s books at Kids’ Book Review and for Story Links.
A frequent speaker at schools and writer’s festivals she uses her many years of experience as an early childhood professional to ensure engaging, entertaining and educational sessions.
She has a Bachelor of Children’s Services, qualification in Professional Children’s Writing, Visual Arts and Crafts and Training and Assessment.
She is a member of Book Links, SCBWI, IBBY, CBCA Qld, ASA and the QWC.
Yvonne grew up in Amsterdam but has made her home in Australia. Her three sons make sure she is never lost for inspiration.
